We can thank the rain for the lush greenery of the Seattle area, but all of that water (over forty inches last year alone!) has to go somewhere. GSI, or green stormwater infrastructure (like rain gardens, cisterns, bioswales, green roofs and green walls), can slow all this water down and filter it before it enters our waterways. Dirt Corps works with RainWise, RainScapes, the Duwamish River Cleanup Coalition and other community organizations to install GSI across the greater Seattle area. Our trainees also get to learn hands-on installation skills and concepts at these projects.
